Eastbury Supportive Living Center (ESLC), located in west Lansing, is a therapeutic and safe environment for those who have both physical and mental limitations as the result of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or spinal cord injury (SCI). At ESLC, we have a post-acute rehabilitation program to prepare each TBI and SCI patient to live independently at home with his or her family, or live in a supported independent apartment program.
Every day, we work to restore independence and the abilities that a TBI or SCI takes away. Whether it is relearning how to cook, clean, manage money, or even redevelop social interaction skills, the LoveJoy Post-acute Rehabilitation Program at ESLC provides the best opportunity for learning and growth.
During an initial admission assessment, we work together with the resident, and his or her referring physician or case manager to develop the best care plan to meet the resident’s needs and goals. Suffering from a TBI or SCI is much different than another debilitating injury or illness. Therefore, we ensure each ESLC staff member has received all necessary training and education, and is competent to care for brain and spinal cord injury patients. This allows us to better service each resident in achieving the goals of their care plan.
Each care plan will require different professional and direct care services which are provided within ESLC. A resident’s care plan may require some or all of the following services:
In order to be admitted into ESLC, a person must participate in an initial resident assessment. The assessment will determine if the resident meets the following admission criteria:
